Pipeline

The liquid fats and oils that BEWA stores are brought in by boat. However, BEWA is not located on the waterfront: DCS lies in between. The oils therefore used to be pumped into trucks that were subsequently driven to BEWA, where everything was again pumped into large storage tanks. To put an end to this cumbersome process, DCS and BEWA had a pipeline constructed between the quay and BEWA’s storage tanks, running below the production halls of DCS. Now there is no more need for trucks; the liquid fats and oils are pumped directly from the ship into the storage tanks. A tremendous improvement for the environment and, of course, for BEWA too.
